Language Founders

I recently came across this mosaic of language creators. What an amazing group of folks - their creation is what keep us gainfully employed today! And as I dig in a bit more, I realize I’ve met quite a few of these GOATs:

1) I sat in Dennis Ritchie’s office at AT&T Labs in Morristown NJ in 2010 - he unfortunately was not in and died a year later. He also created Unix.
2) I was at JavaOne in 2001 and caught a t-shirt that James Gosling fired from his t-shirt cannon
3) I worked with Rasmus Lerdorf at Yahoo! From 2005-2009
4) I had a drink at a bar with a smart Asian dude at a post-SCaLE Happy Hour sponsored by Hashicorp in 2019.  Turns out he was Mitchell Hashimoto, creator of Vagrant, Terraform, and hence HCL.  His photo is not on this mosaic but should be.
